Salad-Oak Leaf-Eikenbladsla 'Red Salad Bowl'-BS1835
Oak leaf lettuce 'Red Salad Bowl' is a slightly curled oak leaf lettuce that is also suitable as a head salad. The colder it is, the redder the leaves become. It has soft leaves with a sweet taste. Due to the type of plant (a little genus), natural enemies such as parasitic wasps and ladybugs are better able to attack aphids.
All lettuce varieties are easy to grow. Lettuce has a short growing season (6 to 8 weeks) and therefore it is important to transplant/transplant plants at a young stage. Lettuce is especially tasty when you don't fertilize too much. If you want to eat lettuce every week, you have to do the sowing/planting regularly. The first sowing under glass can be done already in March, in open ground from April.
Harvesting: young leaves are very tender, can be picked regularly or harvested as a crop.
TIP: Also suitable as a baby blanket. Sow outdoors in the period: May-August.
