Climbing courgette ‘Ola Escaladora’ easily grows upwards along wire mesh or fencing. This climbing courgette is suitable for smaller, walled vegetable gardens, such as city gardens, but of course also fits very nicely in a 'normal' vegetable garden along a fence. Or plant this courgette as a follow-up crop, against the fence of the early pods, garden peas or capuchin beans.

The long tendrils, which can reach a length of up to 5 metres, must be tied up regularly so that the plant can grow upwards. This climbing courgette produces tasty, dark green fruits of approximately 20 cm all summer long, provided that the courgettes are harvested regularly. 'Ola Escaladora' has a beautiful silver pattern in the leaf. If mildew occurs, this is often late in the season. The plant grows best in a sunny location.

Pre-sowing for cultivation in a greenhouse can be done as early as April. For cultivation in the open ground, pre-sowing can be done in May. Planting out is possible as soon as three leaves have developed. The plants grow on any well-fertilized soil and prefer to be sheltered from the wind. After pre-sowing, do not make the soil too wet. Harvest the fruits when they are about 15-20 cm long. The plants are not resistant to night frost.
